Amazon River Cruise Itinerary

Day 1

Meeting of the Waters, Overland Route, and the Start of the Adventure

Morning: Your Cruise on the Rivers of the Amazon starts in Manaus. A speedboat takes you to see the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and Solimões Rivers meet. After that, disembark at Vila do Careiro for a land transfer through the Amazon landscape, heading to Paraná do Araçá.

Once you arrive, you will board the comfortable regional boat, the Andiroba, your home for the next few days. After an introduction to the crew and enjoying lunch on board, the expedition commences with an initial navigation through the area’s complex network of rivers and paranás (flooded forest channels).

11:00 AM: Arrival at the boat, where lunch will be served.
2:30 PM: After lunch, we will explore the area and observe dolphins.
Evening:
Dinner at 7:00 PM.
Overnight: Onboard the boat, anchored in a peaceful location.

Day 2

Immersion in the Forest and Caboclo Life

Morning: Wake up to the sounds of the forest and enjoy the sunrise reflected on the calm waters. Then, a hearty breakfast. Following that, a birdwatching activity while navigating through Paraná do Mamori, a richly biodiverse area.
Afternoon: Later, piranha fishing and observation of birds and other wildlife.
Evening: Dinner on board. Afterwards, get ready for the exciting Caiman Spotting activity.
Overnight: Onboard the boat.

Day 3

Aquatic Safari and Encounter with Dolphins

Morning: Navigation along the Juma River, the heart of the reserve. After breakfast, embark on a Jungle Trek. Guided by an expert, you will delve into the primary forest to learn about medicinal plants, survival techniques, and observe wildlife such as monkeys and sloths.
Afternoon: Subsequently, a visit to a riverside caboclo home. This is an authentic experience to get up close with the lifestyle, culture, and simple, traditional customs of local communities.
Evening: Meanwhile, while having dinner, the boat will navigate along the river.
Overnight: Onboard the boat.

Day 4

Local Culture and Jungle Overnight

Morning: Silent canoeing through narrow channels and flooded forests (igapó) provides the perfect setting for discreet wildlife observation, including birds, iguanas, and primates. Additionally, we will see the Samaúma, the largest tree in the Amazon.
Afternoon: After lunch, preparations for the Jungle Overnight begin. With the guide’s instructions, you will learn how to set up a basic camp in the forest using natural resources.
Evening: Dinner prepared at the campsite. This is a unique experience of total immersion, sleeping under the nighttime sounds of the Amazon (however, the option to sleep onboard the boat remains available for those who prefer it).
Overnight: In the jungle (in hammocks with mosquito nets) or onboard the boat.

Day 5

Final Moments at Maçarico Lake and Return

Morning: Breakfast in the jungle or on board. After that, final navigation through the stunning Maçarico Lake, a perfect spot for photos and appreciating the tranquility and untouched beauty of the Amazon.
